Jeanne was the daughter of the Duke of Saint-Amandin. She was born at the Chateau de Versailles, destined to a spectacular rise at the court.
But her unprecedented honesty and big mouth did not fit in with the courtly customs, causing her to feel more and more shunned. In the end she decided to leave, and she – the girl who had never before left the palace grounds – set out for the real world. A lady servant who met her by the famous golden gate, later said she had never looked so radiant. But she disappeared into the woods and nobody knows what has become of her.
